Indonesia Design Week (IDW) 2025: Idea-Identity. When Design Meets Landscape.

Indonesia Design Week (IDW) 2025 returns on 12–20 September 2025 at the Indonesia Design District (IDD) PIK 2, presenting the theme “Idea-Identity” as an invitation to rediscover Indonesia’s design character. The theme encourages designers and architects to draw inspiration from cultural roots while affirming Indonesia’s presence in the global design landscape. IDW serves as a collaborative arena where ideas are exchanged, refined, and translated into meaningful creative expressions.

In this event, Costus and Hanara Nurseries take part as sponsors and contributors, bringing landscape elements to several key areas. We curated a selection of trees and ornamental shrubs to enrich the visual atmosphere and elevate the spatial experience. Our work is especially visible in the Niskala Raga area and the outdoor Padel Court, where softscape and hardscape compositions were integrated to complement IDW’s design narrative.

We also supported the decoration of several indoor brand booths, introducing natural greenery as a counterbalance to contemporary design installations. Species such as Araucaria heterophylla, Chamaedorea elegans, Xanthostemon chrysanthus, Garcinia subelliptica, Diospyros buxifolia, Eurya japonica, Gardenia carinata, Michelia champaca ‘Yellow’, and Podocarpus macrophyllus formed the foundation of our plant palette. In the outdoor zone, pathways were designed with a blend of stepping stones and white coral stones to enhance the visitor journey throughout the exhibition.

Our collaboration was further enriched by Walpix Metal Design Indonesia, whose artwork contributed to the outdoor landscape composition. Through this involvement, we aim to convey that landscape design is more than decoration—it is a medium that connects ideas, spaces, and people. A quiet but meaningful way to express Indonesia’s identity in a design language that resonates universally.
